The current state of the Pennsdale McDonald's location. |
Yes, this location was a Nascar-themed location focused to Bill Elliott who, at one time, was the Nascar racer for McDonald's. Sadly, everything you are about to see no longer remains here.
You won't find this welcome sign anymore. |
Menu and ordering area. |
A once upon time view from the menu area. |
Bill Elliott's suit on display. I loved the use of neon this location had at one time. |
Got to love this idea of using the restrooms as the pit stop! |
Of course McDonald's makes it out of the crash. |
It's such a shame to see another themed McDonald's go down the drain just for it to be replaced by an eyebrow location. They special locations set them apart from the rest of the McDonald's chain, and it feel special to stop at a McDonald's that wasn't your local one. Unfortunately, the eyebrow will continue to devour other classic locations as time moves on.
Love the title, hate the story :(
ReplyDeleteHaha, me too.
DeleteGives me Boscov's vibes
DeleteSuch a shame :( Everything has to be "new" and it all has to look the same. Blech.
ReplyDeleteI hate that thinking too. At least before it would make stopping at this particular location, or other unique locations, a special experience rather than just stopping at another normal McDonald's.
DeleteI had donated a Bill Elliott
ReplyDeleteChampionship book of matches to the Mc Donald's.
I hope you didn't want them back....
