NOTE: This post comes from outside the blog's coverage area.
As we now move a little further into Massachusetts with our Kmart visits, we now move into the Springfield metro. This month we stop by Holyoke which, much like last month, was also a former Grants store. However, this location was 2.5 times bigger then Great Barrington. In fact, it was over 130,000 sq. ft. making it larger than the average Kmart. As a result, the location had a restaurant at one point that was carried over from Grants, though it was obvious the restaurant closed quite some time ago. An auto center was also in operation at one point. By the time I arrived, only the pharmacy remained as a special department. It also worth noting that a Sears Outlet appeared to be operating out of some of the store's excess space- though it didn't have any interior connection to the Kmart. This location is vacant, to the best of my knowledge.
