Kmart #3264

This month's look at a Kmart store features one that is still operating and that is not closing at this time. Located in Moosic, a suburb of Scranton, the store was a former Arlan's dept. store which was bought out by Kmart. Kmart also took over two other Arlan's stores in Wilkes-Barre and Edwardsville. Out of the three locations, this Kmart is the most unique. Read on to discover why.

The exterior is even different. Note that the entrance is not symmetrical.

This store does well enough to have its own wi-fi service.
Time for the interior tour:

Extra space used for misc. products.

A slightly creepy hallway to the garden shop

Where is the rest of the sign?

Rating:  6 out of 10.
Even though the store has a newer decor package, it suffers from a less than ideal floor. On the positive side, the store was well-stocked and had a good handful of customers. The missing part of the sporting goods department sign and the just general creepy feeling of the hallway to the garden shop drop the store's score down.

In Danger of Closing?
I don't think so, but possible. The store is not far from downtown Scranton and as such it seems to do decent enough to continue operating.
