The Former Tops of Fulton
Back in 2018, Tops was in the middle of bankruptcy. As a result, 10 locations were closed. As one of those 10 locations, the former location in Fulton, NY will be the focus of this post. This was a smaller Tops location that had been acquired from Struppler Shurfine in 2015 with eight aisles. There was also a gas station outside of it. Best I can tell, this location remains vacant, likely due in part to its poor location.
A lot of smaller, independent operators tended to have gas stations paired with the grocery store, this one being no exception. Tops acquired this store from Struppler Shurfine in July 2015. Tops was well known for acquiring smaller chains and franchised stores in the 2010s.

Delete2007 Google Street View shows it as the Surefine with Sunoco gas.
DeleteI would expect the Wal-mart going in also was a factor in this closing, plus competition from a Save-a-Lot and Price Chopper.
