Former Kmart #9146

NOTE: This post comes from outside the blog's coverage area.

Starting off our Massachusetts Kmart visits, we tour the westernmost one in Great Barrington. Much like the Berwick, PA store, this location was also a smaller store in a former Grants. As such a small size, no specialty departments were present. I managed to visit this location during its liquidation sale. This location is now subdivided between a Tractor Supply and a Marshalls.

  1. It seems that being a Kmart is the only reason this building retained a shingled facade for as long as it did. Most businesses with shingles updated them to metal facades within the past 10 to 15 years.

    1. Yep, Kmart did seem to do very little to stores they took over.
