Former Kmart #3824
This month's Kmart tour is another now closed location in Hermitage, PA. This location was a '80s built store and would wind up closing spring 2018. This overall was a typical Kmart store with no special or unique features. When I visited this location in February 2017, it felt clean and organized; but seemed to lack customers. The electronics department also had a noticeable waste of space.

Yikes - that waste of space in electronics is very noticeable indeed! I don't know if the singular display makes it better or worse. Also, kinda strange that there wasn't any "Pharmacy" lettering (or sign) above the counter itself. Made me think it was closed at first. (It already seemed to be closed for the day, but that had me thinking it was closed for good for a moment there!)
ReplyDeleteYeah, that display almost does seem like a half-baked attempt to fill the space. The lack of pharmacy signage was curious too, but I assumed the pharmacy had been open because of the picture and Rxs.
DeleteThe Pharmacy actually closed a month after this pictures were token so that's properly why there wasn't any Pharmacy lettering which they properly got rid of it earlier.
ReplyDeleteWell that explains a lot.
DeleteSeen today that this location is being converted to have a Big Lots(which relocated from the connecting plaza next door...) ,and a Gabes, the Big Lots looked like it was open, and the Gabes is still under construction..
ReplyDeleteAh good to see it being reused!
