After Malone, the only other north country left to tour is the Plattsburgh location. (It is worth noting that there was a Kmart in Ogdensburg, but that location closed as part of the 2002/2003 bankruptcy.) This Kmart location had once been an anchor to a mall called the Champlain Center South. Since the mall was de-malled in the early 2000s, Kmart received a new style entrance from that era. Beyond that history, Kmart here did have all the usual special departments like a pharmacy and Little Caesars. This location is now a Runnings farm store.
The Ogdensburg Kmart actually closed in March 1998, and was demolished for a Lowe's. It replaced an old Grant's store at Park Plaza in 1990, which was demolished around 2010 with the entire shopping center.
ReplyDeleteThere were two locations in Ogdensburg with one of them being a relocation store. The relocation store is what Lowe's replaced. The original store and shopping center were demolished. It's with possible the replacement store may have been demolished for Lowe's, but given that Lowe's remodeled a few old Walmart locations, I'm hesitant to say that it occurred for sure. Pretty sure the replacement store was listed in the bankruptcy wave in 2002.
