Tionesta's Village Marketplace

Today's post comes from one of the counties in the coverage area I honestly thought I wouldn't make a post for. That is because, as the county's name implies, the area is vastly a forest. However, I recently discovered that the town of Tionesta took a unique spin to the marketplace concept. It is essentially best described as a bunch of sheds lined up neatly with businesses in them. It also kind of serves as a park for the area it would seem as it also has a playground.

Overall this is quite the cute and charming little place to visit if you are ever in the area!

Former Kmart #7177

NOTE: This post comes from outside the blog's coverage area.

Moving on to the next state, we move to Virginia to continue our Kmart tours. Our first location we will take a look at was the Wanyesboro location. With a pharmacy and at one point a cafe, this location was a typical '90s location that actually had relocated from across the street.

Hannaford's Horizontal Ways of Doing Things

Today's tour takes us to perhaps the most unique supermarket I've stepped foot into. Apparently the fact that the decor is quite simple and plain with just letters over the various departments make its special for the Hannaford chain. But what is far more interesting to me is that the store is layed out much differently from any other supermarket I visited because all the aisles are horizontal.

Hopefully this map will help you better understand the layout:

The tour will pretty much follow the perimeter of the store.
