Former Kmart #4010

NOTE: This post comes from outside the blog's coverage area.

The original Pittsburgh area store, which opened its doors back in 1963, is the Kmart tour for the month of June. It closed its doors for the last time in January 2019 as part of the 2018 Sears Holdings bankruptcy. The store did not feature any specialty departments such as a pharmacy or cafe at the time of my visit. Apparently it did have a Little Caesars at one time though.

    1. I saw that Planet Fitness was opening and saw Hobby Lobby was rumored to be interested in the Dubois space. Would be ideal especially if the Pat Catan's in town is one that is not re-branding to Micheals.

    2. I've been hearing that Pat Catans is changing over to Michael's in August

    3. Oh, that I hadn't heard. All I knew is some locations would convert but not all. It would make sense for them to convert Du Bois since it is still a pretty new location.

Hopefully they figure out something for Clarion.

    4. Heard something recently about another rumor concerning Rural King ...they recently purchased the Kmart in Franklin PA,and supposedly paid in full the past due water and sewage bills for the building, and they took over ownership also...my question is,how do they usually take to move in after something like this happens?

    5. I'm not sure. Rural King has apparently bought plenty of buildings but have yet to do anything with. Franklin is an example of this.
