  1. Well darn it, I have relatives in Natchez and looked up the store there just last week, thinking I would visit it next time I go down that way XD Any idea when they're closing?

    1. Sorry to hear that. From what I gather, it sounds like this wave of stores will be closed by or on December 11.

    2. No problem... a Kmart closing isn't completely unexpected, haha! Thanks for the closure date. I likely won't be able to make it to the Natchez store before then, but if the Memphis Kmart winds up closing (as AFB has alerted me to rumors of via flickrmail), I should be able to visit it near the end.

    4. And Jonesboro too, marking Kmart's exit from the Mid-South :(

  2. Are these 10 a part of those 17 stores Sears Holdings announced they were terminating the leases on?

    1. That 'termination' refers to REIT stores. They are packing up at at 17 REIT stores. Apparently there is supposed to be 60 stores closing all together.

    3. I've posted a few stores in both NY & PA so far, although I have not done a blog post on any store on this closing list.

  3. I hope that Salisbury, Statesville, Thomasville, Clemmons and High Point locations would survive so long, they may be unstoppable!!!

    1. Thomasville, NC is already closing. High Point closed in 2014. I don't believe the others you listed are.

    2. Now Central NC will be left with Concord, Salisbury, Statesville and Clemmons.

    1. Not just yet.... It will probably close early next year. That one still does good business, so they'll likely try to keep that one as long as possible.

    2. Is Clarion PA on the closing list?

  5. Just a correction: In the first two stores added on 9/19, the postal abbreviation for Arkansas is AR. AK is Alaska.

    1. Yeah, I was thinking AK wasn't right. For some reason, I went and put it anyway. Thanks for the correction!

  6. I think you have missed the Burnham, PA store. It has been listed on other closing lists and the local news confirmed it.

    1. Ok, I hadn't seen local confirmation of it. Thanks for letting me know.
