Starting off our Massachusetts Kmart visits, we tour the westernmost one in Great Barrington. Much like the Berwick, PA store, this location was also a smaller store in a former Grants. As such a small size, no specialty departments were present. I managed to visit this location during its liquidation sale. This location is now subdivided between a Tractor Supply and a Marshalls.
It seems that being a Kmart is the only reason this building retained a shingled facade for as long as it did. Most businesses with shingles updated them to metal facades within the past 10 to 15 years.
